Book Giveaway: The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling

I'm incredibly excited about my latest giveaway here at Bookish Ruth. I have a brand new hardcover copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard (Standard Version) by J.K. Rowling to give away to one of my readers.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a Wizarding classic, first came to Muggle readers’ attention in the book known as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Now, thanks to Hermione Granger’s new translation from the ancient runes, we present this stunning edition with an introduction, notes, and illustrations by J. K. Rowling, and extensive commentary by Albus Dumbledore. Never before have Muggles been privy to these richly imaginative tales: “The Wizard and the Hopping Pot,” “The Fountain of Fair Fortune,” “The Warlock’s Hairy Heart,” “Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump,” and of course, “The Tale of the Three Brothers.” But not only are they the equal of fairy tales we now know and love, reading them gives new insight into the world of Harry Potter.

To enter:
1. Leave a comment on this post for one entry.
2. For one additional entry, tell me which House you think you would be placed in if you were a Hogwarts student. (If you're not sure, there's more information about the Hogwarts Houses here.)
3. Subscribe to my site feed and/or add me to your blogroll for two additional entries.
4. For three additional entries, link to this contest from your blog.

If you do all four things, that will give you a total of seven chances to win. The contest will end on December 18, 2008 at 11:59 PM EST. The contest is open to international readers.

Updated December 14, 2008: To celebrate my six month anniversary here at Bookish Ruth, I'm adding two more copies of The Tales of Beedle the Bard to this giveaway. I'll now be drawing three winners at the end of this contest.

What a fantastic giveaway contest. I used to joke with my friends I would be a Slytherin if I was in a Hogwarts house, but realistically I'm more of the slightly impractical academic Ravenclaw type. I've linked the contest on my blog here:

I would love to win this! I used to take the 'what house are you in' quizzes on the internet, and nearly every time, I got Ravenclaw, and I agree. But I probably have a little bit of Slytherin and Hufflepuff in me too.

Please enter me in this giveaway! As for what house I would be in? I always thought Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, but in every quiz I take I get Gryffindor. So I'm going to go with that. :p I've also left a link of your giveaway at my blog, it's on the side under the header Giveaway List.

Thanks

i haven't read this yet! i'm very excited about it's release!

All the quizzes i've taken have marked me as gryffindor, though i think i could be in slytherin.

Greetings! What a wonderful prize book drawing!
I would fit in at the "Hufflepuff House!" I am
hard working, tend to be loyal, try to be tolerant and am a fair player. Please enter my name in your virtual hat drawing. I appreciate it very much!
Thanks, Cindi

What a great contest! I took the test and was placed in Gryffindor, though I wouldn't have minded Ravenclaw!

I'd love to read this. The last Potter book had me really intrigued about it.

After reading the books and watching the movies I would like to be in Gryffindor, but I am definitely a Hufflepuff. Fair play, loyalty are definitely valued; being near the kitchen is really nice; I love yellow; fat, comfy armchairs are for me. I don't like having dorms in the basement - I want lots of windows to let in the lights, the little round doors are cool, tho.
